01 — The problem
Six cafés took delivery orders by phone. Building an app made no sense: with a $10 average order, nobody installs software to buy a wrap. Aggregators took 30 % commission, which left the cafés earning almost nothing on delivery.
02 — What we built
We talked them out of a Mini App
The client wanted a Telegram Mini App with a polished catalogue. We ran the numbers and proposed a button-based bot instead: a 60-item menu fits buttons perfectly, and a Mini App would have added $6,700 and a month to the project. We revisited the question a year later — the client said buttons were fine.
Reorder in one tap
The finding that shaped the project. 64 % of food delivery orders are repeats. A "Repeat last order" button on the first screen cuts the path to payment to three taps, and it now accounts for 38 % of all orders.
POS integration
Orders land directly on the kitchen terminal with no operator involved. Status updates — preparing, courier on the way — flow back into the bot automatically.
Delivery zones by location
The customer shares a pin, the bot picks the nearest café and quotes the delivery fee before payment rather than after. That removed the main cause of abandoned orders.
